I've seen a lot of bee shots. And I love them. The bees are so wonderfully fuzzy and fabulous when shot with a macro lens. I do not have a macro lens, but I was pretty pleased with this different kind of bee shot.
I'm a busy bee myself this week and getting a jump on tomorrow so that I can be a better mama and be more present with my kids.
The best quote of the weekend, I am sure that you all will appreciate. I asked my hubby if he wanted to see the photo that I had just uploaded. He was looking at it on his phone. I asked jokingly if I had any comments or faves yet and he said: "Oh for f'ing crying out loud. Who gives a $h*%!" I cracked up at the truth to this.
This is much better large and in charge, if you have a sec.
I like this! Especially with the one in the background buzzing over to see what's up. I love doing bee pictures, although I've only had success a couple of times. Those suckers are hard to catch, especially if you're a chicken like me, lol!
@istacy1011 I am such a bee chicken. Like they make me scream like a girl. It's an irrational fear, as I've never been stung. I don't know how I feel brave with the camera getting in there. Maybe it's that I am SHOOTING them;-). Thanks, friend!!
@anzere03 Thanks so much. Appreciate the follow, too. Following you back!
@masosy So stinkin' funny. A little perspective that I needed to hear! Thanks, friend!
You were lucky with this follow-up bee. You mightn't have a macro lens but your camera would have a macro setting. This is what I use but it doesn't get the tiny insects. Hey, I wouldn't laugh at this comment from hubby! I would have said, excuse me, but I have 360 followers who will all be interested!
Nice shot and love both bees in this photo, Amanda. Love that you got one clear and the other one not. Pretty flowers make this photo so bright and colorful. Your writing cracks me up. Love your husbands comment. lol You and your new camera are doing great photography.
Terrific bee capture and unusual to have gotten them both in the frame. I like the focus and blur together. Laughed at your husband's comment too -- a pretty on target outside perspective! But not part of my 365 world where it all matters, of course!
Love this shot! What a great capture of the two bees ...and beautiful color of the flower. Love your story about your husband. Many of us can relate....it is best dealt with humor for sure!!
Wonderful photo! I love the that the flying bee looks as though he's just hanging there!. Your husbands comments made me smile - I've only been doing this for 5 days and I'm driving mine mad already!!
@maggiemae Just to clarify, he likes and cares about my photos, just not my obsessive compulsive need to see my comments and check in with 365. I asked mostly as a joke, but really did want to know. So it's about that. Thanks so much, Maggiemae!
Great shot - love the title and the incoming bee! As for the quote - just classic - I think husbands, wives and partners of 365ers the world over will sympathise!! LOL : ))
Thanks all so much for liking my different kind of bee shot and my hubby's funny quote. I'm still a busy bee getting ready for my trip. Today I finally got some walking shoes. Tomorrow I pack. Buzzing off now...zzzzzzzz.....
Amanda I have a silhouette shot of you sitting in the window shooting the Empire State Building - you look great from what any one can see since afterall its a silhouette - can I post the shot on my project?
@michaelelliott Absolutely. Thanks for asking. I get a copy, yes?! We did Central Park yesterday and I was not disappointed. Lots of great people shots. And I found your tunnel (or maybe a shorter version of it).
@amandal - ok Thx Ill post it tonite and I emailed it to you. That's great you did Central Park. Did you find the pond and mall leading to Bethesda Terrace and CP Lake by boat house? Sorry I couldn't take you Sun but had to visit my son in Massachusetts. Btw your mom is fabulous. A real trooper never complaining about the walking or heat.
We saw the place where people rowed boat, the sailboat pond for kids, the dairy, Big Bird!!, Bethesda fountain and terrace (great concert going on there). Such a lovely place. Then we walked back on 5th Avenue and went into St Patrick's Cathedral. Did you have a Christmas shot there?
@michaelelliott Oh and will you tag me when you post it. I don't want to miss it. I will be travelling today, home late tonight and recovering and busy with the kids much of tomorrow. Thanks, Michael!
@amandal - wow you covered best parts of CP I'm glad. Yes my big reflection off floor shot was St Paddys. I will post shot tonite and of course tag and give you top billing!
I love bee shots too, and the pop of pink makes this one stand out. I don't have much fear of them, just a healthy respect. ;-)
Now wasps/hornets on the other hand. Yikes! Scare the bejeezus outta me!
LOL @ your hubby's comment. Nobody can bring us back down to the basics like a loved one.
@anzere03 Thanks so much. Appreciate the follow, too. Following you back!

Beautiful shot, really like how you got the second bee coming in.
LOve the little guy hovering off to the side :)
