Yes, I could have called this something plain like Colorful Fall Foliage or cleverly alliterative like Fall 'Flections.
But that is not what this is all about. This shot is about the boat that screwed up what could have been pure autumnal perfection. As I looked at this pretty scene, I wished that the fishing boat (squint in the nearly dead center, along the opposite shoreline) would cruise more into the scene, thus improving the overall composition. I wanted it more in the center right of the reflection. I waited for a few moments and tried to will them with my mind power. I was tempted to shout over to them, "Eh, yo...you fishers over there...Motor on over into the scene here for me, would you! I need you in the shot!"
But I didn't have the guts to scream and my mind power was weak apparently because they kept on happily fishing in the wrong place and wrecked the shot. Ruined by their selfishness. Oh the nerve of people these days...
Ha ha! Love your last line! This happens to me so often. I feel the need to rearrange people and nature for my compositions. It is a lovely shot despite the uncooperative fishing boat. I love the colors and beautiful reflections!
Hahahaha! I wonder what he thought of the woman on the shore pointing the camera his way and shaking with frustration. It really sucks when living and non living subjects do not bend to our will. The shot is awesome !
@jsw0109 Totally agree. Who do we talk to about passing the laws on people existing for the purpose of our camera shooting pleasure? They are our pawns.:)
Great description of the critical events. Can you imagine, Amanda, the boat coming towards the middle, creating some nice ripples, and being more in the bright reflection??? Many ifs that didn't happen just because those guys didn't move... what nerve...
I know exactly how you feel! I mean, seriously . . . don't people understand the need to cooperate in the creation of perfect photos? :) Funny narrative, despite your frustration.
:o) That made me laugh. Unfortunately we can't always get the scene we want. It's a cool shot nevertheless. Maybe you'll get the boat in the right place another day xx
Some people are so thoughtless,Amanda, they don't realise we 365ers want to make our shots better!!That said,I love the autumn colours and reflections!!
I did have to laugh at your narrative .The boat doesn't bother me as it doesn't interfere with the reflection and is close enough to the shore. Altough I see what you mean, it is still a lovely composition.
Lovely colours and I'm laughing as I've just stood in the rain waiting for someone to walk through a particular puddle and no one would oblige. Now drying off in a nearby cafe. I'll sign us both up for mind control 101.
oh amanda - i can see your little black book now "note for year 3 - carry around loud hailer for calmly but firmly encouraging boat owners to move boats into ideal position for perfect shot"
@gozoinklings I love your fun comments, Catherine. Thank you so much for them. I need a mega phone. Push the button and it makes that squealing noise..."Attention please...YOU in the boat..." You make me smile:)!
Thank you so much, my friends. I could have said nothing and most of you wouldn't have noticed the darn boat...it's a good photo as is, but I loved the story more. And it had to be told. Thank you for relating and appreciating it. Seriously, why doesn't the world just cooperate with us more?! We'd be a whole lot happier, huh? Yeah...almost Friday, friends. Enjoy!!
