Another shot from my fall hike the other day. Man, it was so amazingly gorgeous.
So yesterday, we saw the absolute perfect house. I had done a search online and found it. We walked around the place gasping in amazement at how unbelievably great it was. Too good to be true. And it was. Turns out it is in a pretty bad school district so we had to rule it out. That is what is most important to us...making sure we get a great education for our kids. I had to sing Roxette...it's a funny thing I do when things fall apart, fall through..."It must have been love, but it's over now..."
Last night at our new Bible study, we were discussing what heaven on earth would look like. I think that the beautiful things that we see and photograph...like lovely fall color and gorgeous sunset skies are a taste. I also thought that heaven on earth would have no speed limit signs...and perhaps nothing would ever get in the way of a perfect photo. I think that there would also be all you can eat guacamole and chips (always the right amount of both). And no fussing and fighting and all that. Hmmm...
What would it look like to you?
Happy new week, may you see a little heaven on earth today!
What a pity. It must be very disapointing, btu youยดll find a perfect one soon. This is definetely a peek of perfection. Gorgeous place and amazing composition!
Beautiful shot! I like how you framed it. And after reading what you wrote...I kinda want guacamole and chips now... Have a great week and good luck with the house hunting!
I love everything about this picture and the caption, except for the house not working out that you were interested in. I'm in a facebook small group for a Proverbs 31 Ministries online Bible study with roughly 20ish other ladies. The fellowship we have there is out of this world amazing and beautiful. This is my second study in this small group, but our new study just started on the 13th with a couple new ladies and we have already started planning a retreat in the Smokies cause it's just that great. We were talking about how as good as the fellowship is here, can you even begin to IMAGINE what heaven must be like? WOW!
@istacy1011 I can...just a little. It will be amazing. My dream is to be a photographer THERE!! Make calendars or something. Maybe work for heaven's national geographic;-).
When we lived in Orlando, I worked at Campus Crusade for Christ at their world headquarters. I was a part of the team that put on the staff events. We did an Easter Egg hunt there that was a slice of heaven...perfect weather, beautiful scene, sweet children playing and laughing, a family feel surrounded by brothers and sisters. Freakin' amazing. Can I join your FB group? Thanks for your great comments, my friend!
A beautiful POV ...nicely framed. Gorgeous colors. Chocolarte! Lots of chocolate in heaven on earth....with zero calories!! Do you ever watch House Hunters on HGTV? Maybe you can get on that show...that would be fun!!! hahaha!
What would heaven be like for me? Well, I agree with what you said about heaven, the beauty we see now may be seen in heaven. I also would add, that as we would be vessels of honour we would perceive through a pure heart and we would only see the good in others. For example if we discipline ourselves here and now to think only kind and good thoughts we would not criticize each other because of our faults but embrace the good. So in essence what I'm trying to say is, that everything will be pure of thought word and deed and everything will be beautiful. We would have a heart of love. @istacy1011
Amanda I did forget to comment on your post I was carried away with your narrative. As soon as I saw your composition I gave you a FAV. As your POV is fabulous and the colours are amazing.
Beautiful colours and framing, great shot, love it. Looks like a beautiful place. Sorry to hear about the house, there is often a reason why beautiful houses seem affordable, the minute you are in an area with good schools, prices shoot up! Have found the same here in my recent searches. The right place will come along. Heaven right now for me, would simply be time to myself with nothing to do, no one to look after, time to think, dream...
@amandal I so wish you could, but they are already closed for this particular study. However, there will be a new study starting in January. If you want, friend me on facebook and I'll make sure to keep you in the loop. I woud love to have you join us! :) www.facebook.com/istacy1011
@megmills Nope, there are lots of bad ones and a handful of good ones. This one that we saw the house in received an overall D score. I want to send my kids to A schools:). The past 3 photos were from my Sharon Woods walk the other day if you didn't see them. Thanks, lady!
@amandal really...I honestly didn't think any schools were low. I'm going to your other pics now. I'm sitting in McDs bc our Internet seems to be out at home! ARRAGGGHHH! Help!
Oh wow - I see what you mean - we were both in the same frame of mind with our shots for today - gorgeous framing, and as for those colours in the background - stunning! There's just something amazing about Autumn and all the shades and tones... God - the master painter at it again. :)
What a pretty scene Amanda. Shame about the house but a perfect one will come along. Remember it's the people that make a house a home not the building itself.
This is a super lovely view already but that framing just makes it! Sorry about the house. And I agree, it is impossible to correctly balance your guacamole and chips!
What a gorgeous photo, Amanda. The framing is awesome and love the Fall colors. You will find that very special place to call home. FAV As far as your guacamole, I cannot chew chips, so I eat bread with mine.
gorgeous capture...love this alot..and love shots like this...I have a few myself. Sorry to hear about the house..been going through that myself with my daughter...they find the perfect house...then it gets bought before they get a chance to even put an offer in. Glad you have the priority of a good school for the chldren. That is most important..and the right house will come along...good luck with that! oh this is also a fav for me! ;o)
@skipt07 I talked about heaven on earth and what it would look like/be like in my text. We just talked about that in Bible study last night. What are your thoughts? No speed limits were a big one on my list:). Can you imagine how beautiful it will be? You think we can still take photos then? I so want to capture that! Thanks, Skip.
@amandal - A friend of the family's loaned be a book a while back. I would need to ask her what the book's title was, because I don't recall. The author feels that when we go to heaven, we will continue to have work. But in heaven it won't be laborious like here. And we will continue to learn through experiences rather then all knowledge coming to us. After all, we will have all of eternity to learn. So I am guessing that photography could be a part of the experience. There was a man who was a member of our church who had a green thumb. He took it upon himself to take take of all the flower beds around the church. When his time on earth was over, many of us think that God had a beautiful huge flower garden for him to take care of. As far as guacamole and chips, that have no idea.
Another gorgeous fall scene. A great arched frame and a fence for the fence club! SUPER. And dang, wouldn't ya know it: perfect house, bad school district. Great to walk away in that situation, but oh so sad. So hard, but the right choice. Bet it was super fun to work at Campus Crusade for Christ. I have great memories being a part of them in college. And heaven.....mucho more perfect than anything here. Reminds me of an old song called Reaching. I find myself never quite content in anything and everything in life...I just keep reaching. "We are desperate to discover
What is just beyond our grasp...But maybe that's what Heaven is for"....
@skipt07 Love your comments, Skip, thanks for them!! I so hope there is lots of guacamole and cameras:). Looking forward to the day! But enjoying the glimpses of heaven here everyday.
@moreyoulessme Oh Jerri, it was the best to work for Crusade. Such a wonderful and fun group of people. It was almost like a college campus. Lots of young people. I wished that I had been single a little...I was the married lady in a large group of singles. It made me feel old. Thanks so much for your great comments!! So looking forward to heaven! What a house we will have there!!:)
Really appreciated all of your lovely comments, encouragements, thoughts on Heaven and words. Thanks for your support. Still looking...and enjoying fall in the meantime!
I think heaven on earth would look a lot like northern Michigan during peak fall foliage and all animals, no matter how wild, would come up to me to greet me and be my friends. ;)
@amandal I didn't hit up the island because the friend that went with me was almost out of funds and I couldn't swing paying for both of us to go to the island. Maybe I'll do it in the spring.
Ok, I know I'm confused. I went through all your photos yesterday and I remember now that my phone was not working for comments, which I tried to do on your photos. My mind, it's gone.
Heaven is only on earth for me. It is now. When I breathe my last breath, I leave it for others, hopefully a little better than I found it. But I will cease completely. That is comforting to me.
I love your fall shots. All of them. Love the shot with the lovely bird and the glittery water. Hope a new home pops up. It must be frustrating, but you will find the right one. :)
@darylo Oh shoot, what a bummer. Thanks, Daryl!! We found another one to check out tonight for tomorrow...just when all hope was gone. It will come along. So ready for that! And thanks so much for your kind comments on all of the photos. Hoping that the glittery bird makes it up there high on TT this week. It is one of my most favored photos yet. I was so pleasantly surprised by that!

@amrita21 Love that!! Me, too, Amrita. Thanks so much for your fav, too:)!!
@darsphotos So many people told me bread. I'll have to try that next time! Thanks so much for your kind words and fav, my friend!
@fishy Thanks so much for your fav and kind words, Andrew!!
