Anyone sick of Christmas carols yet? It seems like they started this year, waaaay earlier than in past years. I keep accidentally switching to the Christmas station on the radio and then quickly switching the channel. I am NOT ready for Christmas yet. The thought of it actually makes my eye start to twitch.
We moved some shelves out of the house last night and I noticed some new stripes on the wall this morning from the blinds. I've been meaning to get a good striped shadow selfie so I ran a brush through my hair, threw on some lipstick and mascara and smiled into the sunny stripes.
I had others that I liked, but this one was my most natural smile. Most of my selfies haven't had me smiling this year and I thought it was time you saw it, being that it's probably my best feature and cost my parents thousands of dollars and me years and years of dorky, annoying, but well worth it, braces and retainers as a kid.
I tried to appear to be daydreaming here for the 5+2 selife theme of dreams this week.
And thanks again for your support last week for my silly sewer tart selfie seen here if you missed it: http://365project.org/amandal/365-year-2/2013-11-19. It has become my most popular, loved selfie to date and was honored to be selected by two amazing photographers as their fav fav of last week and I was told in comments that it was my best work yet. Blown away! And needing new fun ideas like that!! Anyone, anyone...?
And this marks my 1000th photo. Wowie, that's big stuff.
I don't think I've heard one Christmas Carol yet, thank goodness! But I'll be ready for them in a few days time, I daresay. Just got to get my b'day out the way on Thursday. :)
I love this stripey selfie.... and as for that smile - Fabulous!!!
Your smile suggests you are still enjoying the Christmas Carols? They haven't really started here and the retail staff here are being surprised by my early cheer!
@bobfoto You know I would be into it if I weren't so stressed out and busy. I don't even know when we will shop for Christmas this year or pack for our trip or...I do love Christmas and carols, but just not feeling it yet. They were playing in October this year!!!
@m9f9l I need some more fun stuff to be born then. Oh my goodness. Loved that. We need to do more of that with each other on here. Crazy stuff/dares, etc.
I agree completely - the shops have decorated and 'advertised' for Christmas far too early this year. I haven't heard carols as yet but I am sure that they are just around the corner.
Fabulous selfie and smile - live the stripes throughout including those in the ribbing of your top which add different angles.
@rennes Lisa...you need to do one like this for a real profile photo of the artist herself:). I have a hat. I should have worn the freakin' hat...zebra kids snow hat.:)!
Love your title and this photo, Amanda. One of my favorite selfless that you have taken. You have so much to offer to this site. You are taking amazing photos with your camera. Best thing you ever did was buy this camera and learn how to use it. FAV
@darsphotos Thank you, thank you, thank you so much. I really loved this shot, too. I so love the light and color. I agree with your words, too. Definitely one of the best things that I have done recently anyway.
So, my new place has this back room that is all windows that faces the woods. I am already thinking that that will be a perfect place to sit and write. That is going to be part of my other focus next year. Getting the ball rolling with writing...and also trying to get paid for photography somehow. So appreciate the fav!
@bobfoto I'll try them sometime. The wetness, runny business, doesn't much appeal, but I ate goat, elephant, frog, gator. I can try runny, wiggly eggs.
Great shot - cool light and cool selfie :)
I'm with you on the Christmas music - though if I had my way it would only be allowed to be played on Christmas Eve and Christmas day!
@bobfoto I didn't kill it. I wouldn't do that. I didn't even take it from the buffet, but Mike had some, and I thought, "What the heck? When will I ever get this opportunity again?" And it was sick.
@seanoneill Thanks soooo much, Sean. The 1000 kinda snuck up on me. I really appreciated your great comments and ideas to cut back. I do purge my list a bunch, and I probably really need to stop feeling compelled to answer all the time, though I do mostly do mass replies this time around. Guess what...tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we maybe having Stovetop!!:)
@amandal Have a great day, or as I think you say "Happy Holiday's". God luck with coming up with a clear strategy for carrying on. I'm happy the way I do it now, it is more enjoyable and never a chore to be on 365.
@seanoneill Or Happy Thanksgiving...holidays works, too. Thanks, friend!! I need it to not be a chore and a compulsion and not something that takes me from my family so much. I do so like that positive feedback and that makes it rather addicting to me. A little less or a lot won't kill me, and if I only post amazing, than maybe I will still get lots.
I really appreciate all of your wonderful comments. I liked this one so much I changed it to my profile photo. There is just something about light and shadows and stripes that I like:)!

@wendyhgill I always so love and appreciate your words, Wendy. Thank you!!!
