Here's Looking at You, Kid

I love how Florida is scurrying with lizards, not so much the roaches and other bugs, but the lizards I love and miss.

I crept around the yard a few times trying to capture the little buggers. My lens isn't much meant for small, but I did like how this guy was peeking out at me suspiciously.

When I was a kid I adored these guys and even planned to build a house in our backyard for them. Once when a friend stepped on an injured one, I made a little cave home for it and nursed it back to health. I even caught bugs for it to eat and used a poker chip for it's plate. And one day when I went to check on it, it jumped out and ran away...hopefully well.

So I got to see lizards, dolphins and even my first in the wild owl (but I was cameraless) while in Florida. Amazing moments, all of them.
its so cool that they have lizards and geckos all over the place... makes me want to go

@jsw0109 Great place to visit. Not live. The beaches ROCK, though!

@amandal I'd never want to live there for too many reasons to list LOL.. but I've never actually been to Florida and would like to go to Disney World and Universal and Miami and stuff

Great shot, I like the lizard against the texture of the wood and framed by the black.

Just stopping by for a quick second. I signed in to the website and this cutie popped up on my feed.

I LOVE this little guy. Also loved the story of you nursing a lizard back to health.
It sounds like you spent Christmas in FL? Damn, I am SOOOOO out of the loop with all my 365 friends. Once I got out of the habit of logging in everyday (ok, SEVERAL times a day, LOL), it's been difficult to work it back into my normal day.
I hope everything is well with you and yours.

@pasadenarose Love that you did, lady. Thank you. I love him, too. I know what you mean about being out of the loop. A month or so ago (maybe 3 weeks ago?) I moved and have been crazy busy since then. I've really been absent of late. Still trying to post when I can and can't believe that tomorrow is my 365 day for year 2. Year 3 will be much more sporadic. Happy Holidays and nice to hear from you, my friend!!

i was discussing with an english friend how we should do an exchange with london between lizards and squirrels - but no trees here and no sun there - they are curious & decorative and clean as far as i know - nice shot :o)

@gozoinklings I just love them, but then squirrels are pretty sweet, too. How funny a discussion.
