Note to self: Never tell her to play in traffic!;-)
This was really a recreation of a site that we passed yesterday afternoon on the way home from the library. A boy was sitting up in a tree reading. It was so perfect. It was such a delicious scene. And of course, I didn't have my camera (my cell takes awful and grainy photos).
I thought to go back, in fact went to get my camera and my kids insisted that I shouldn't. That I would embarrass them and the poor tree reading kid. And that I would be a creepy stranger and all that.
And then Emily graciously offered to climb up and pose for me because she is a self proclaimed monkey. Love my girl, love a good book...and I love climbing trees. All good today, all good!
Fantastic recreation and what your child could do to avoid embarrassing the other kid... LOL. Love the story and the family interaction. Made me think of the beginning of Alice in Wonderland. FAV.
Lovely light in this sweet photo Amanda ... the blues of your daughter's outfit contrast so well with the browns and greens all around her. What a lovely girl!
love, love your commentary and this shot is way cool. I actually was the little girl who used to climb up to a special nook in a big apple tree and sit there for HOURS reading books & crunching on apples when I was a kid.
I loved to read your story and how your kids didn't let you go back and take the shot. My teenager keeps feeling embarrased with me taking street photos. Your daugther is so cute and you made a nice recreation of the scene!!
You are very lucky to have a professional model in the family ;)
My daughters are crazy about reading, they read everywhere....I have to force them to stop ;)
and I love how they are already worried about being embarressed....your kids are so fun and so
sweet..really cute pic
