Life's a Beach. Wish you were here. Heck, wish I were there. Back in the sun, back at the beach. Toes in the sand. Stead of hear sitting in the light of the screen, with the sound of the toilet flushing rather than the sound of the surf. Hmph. Beach is better. I'll just look at this and dream.
This was taken on Cape Cod last week. Sooo cool to finally get to see the cape as that is where my dad grew up going. It was his beach.
I was working on high key shots while there and this was one of them, but I had some fun adding in texture to give the shot more depth. See the stretch of land extending out beyond the umbrella? That is the end of the cape and the state of mass. The tippy tip top, that funky shape on the maps. There it is. I miss it.
Elegant simplicity!! Hoping for an umbrella shot myself today...but it means getting it set up, getting the lensbaby on, etc. and I have SO much work to do (complaining...sorry). But your shot has inspired me to just go do it! Thank you...time for a computer break!
Such a fab beach shot....I can feel the heat rising, and the wind blowing from the ocean! Cape Cod is such a wonderful place....we spent a week in Truro a few years back, and loved every minute of it! Rented a house for a family reunion, and wish we would do it again!! I love these beach umbrellas, and the beach chairs, and the colorful towels....high key brings the saturation of all that sunny color down.
Gorgeousness and the loo/surf comment made me giggle. You rarely fail to make me smile in appreciation at your photos and giggle with happiness at your comments.
@amandal Just took about 30 photos as the umbrella kept tipping over, blowing away, etc., but it was fun to be outside for a break! So thank you -- even if none come out worthy of posting, it was a good break and I wouldn't have gotten outside to do it if it weren't for your photo as inspiration!
Love it, love it.....fav and pin. This is just so brilliant and I agree with you on everything. The Cape is so beautiful....it's been decades since I was there.
Such a beautiful shot, Amanda. I wish I was there too. Love what you did with this one and is teaching me about my own photos that are SOOC. I can change that and make them a bit different. Thank you for that and love that your Dad grew up at this beach at the end of the Cape. So cool to be able to see this just because of you and 365. Love it. FAV
@darsphotos Show me the west coast, will you?! I so love and miss the beach. There is so much so so much you can do with editing. Loved how it enhanced the photo...and liked the effect of the camera settings, too. thanks, sweet lady!!
Send me your email address and I will send you photos that I took at Bodega Bay and see what you think and changes that can be done. Or email me: solemdarlene@yahoo.com and I can get back to you. I love the beach so much after growing up so close to it and spending so much time there. I have a lot to learn about editing and how to better use my camera. Our car had to go into the shop for an oil change last week and my husband called and said we had to get struts, etc. $1,900 and a rental car. A new or used camera is on hold for now. You are very welcome for the comments my friend.
