This year I am singing Christmas carols already. I am definitely feeling into the Christmas spirit now as we decorate the house. I survived hosting Thanksgiving...and it went well. And somehow I've volunteered to host both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Both will be low key, but...
It helps that I am not packing, painting and trying to pull off a move and plan a trip south all at once. That was nuts last year. The only stress now is finding me a car.
This is the cute little friend that lives in our backyard and hangs out outside my office window. I see him scurrying around regularly. I captured him on Thanksgiving looking at me all inquisitively. Just got one shot and then he dove into his hidey hole in the wall. He reminded me of this Christmas song and famous chipmunk: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x59kei_alvin-and-the-chipmunks-christmas-s_music
Cute shot and commentary - congrats for hosting a successful Thanksgiving. This was the first year in many that I did not host the holiday at my house and have to say it felt very fun and almost naughty to have had such a fun afternoon simply playing instead.
@amandal LOL - seriously that is EXACTLY what we did for several hours before we went out to "play" - I mean windows, floors, just like we would have for guests. Love, love a freshly deep cleaned house !!
What a cute little fellow. I imagine Thanksgiving is a great day but Christmas is such a major production that I don't know that I would have the energy for another one at this time of year. Glad that you had a great time.
Such a great shot, Amanda. How fun to have this little guy in your yard to enjoy. Sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving. Good luck with the car shopping. I am sofa shopping. Our Futon is on its last leg. Love Alvin and the Chipmunks. FAV
He hehehe...so cute and he does remind me of that song which is now stuck in my head, thank you very much. I just don't think I can do another huge Turkey dinner kind of thing so close to the last one. I used to, with no problem. (and we have not been home for Christmas much in the last 10 years). We are going to a very causal but delicious I am sure, yummy nibbles and deserts. A lot less work and clean up and will give me more time to engage with the family. Everything can be prepared ahead of time. Love having everyone over, but sometimes so much work does not allow me time to enjoy their company. Even though others will chip in, having a "one and half butt" kitchen (depending on size!) makes it easier to do imyself.
Hi Amanda.. :-))) It's been so long since I commented....crazy, crazy month here, but I have been lurking, and thinking about your fab shots, so I am just starting at the beginning, and looking at every photo....sorry to flood you with comments. This little guy is adorable, and great capture!!
