Here it is: my 200th selfie. I did it. Reached the goal. I was so happy I did a dance!
I went back to my old neighborhood this weekend. I was on a date with Michael. A plan B date that was just perfect. We have fun. Wait, I should have been dancing with him here. Shoot.
Check out me as a um...deer @madhatters today. Just to kick off your week with a chuckle.
Happy Monday!!!
Oh and here was my first and only other night selfie I did at this location: http://365project.org/amandal/365-year-2/2013-03-03 Went for a different pov this time, though it killed me not to get the reflections. Just wanted my camera nearby as I needed someone to push the shutter for me which was a bit of a pain last go at it.
@gozoinklings I just love that place. I hadn't been near it for months or in it for maybe a year. I did some photos with Michael, too, because we have a big day coming up.
@redpants Well I've been at this for nearly 3 years, but probably most were from this year and last year. Year 1 I only did a handful and hadn't come of own in the selfie world then. I do so enjoy them for the fun of it:).
@kali66 Thanks, Kali. The lake was reflective, too, but I put the camera closer so the remote would work. The last time I did night shots here I got this amazing reflection.
Must fav this one, too (you already know how much I love the SC one). I remember this gazebo as one of the first photos I saw from you when I joined 365. The quote by Emilie is perfect!
@tremerryn Funny. I did, that was why we went actually...some romantic photos for an upcoming anniversary, but I also took some selfies and am saving the romantic one for our day:). thanks, friend!!!
Wow 200! That is awesome! I love this. It looks like you are having the time of your life. The red really makes this great. My husband always makes me dance alone. Glad you had a great date:)
@pammerritt I met my dancing 20 years ago tomorrow. We dance, but not as much as I would like. I wish I had had him strike a dancing pose with me here. We took some shots of us, but not in a dance state. Shoot!
@amandal - don't do this to old people. we might die in our sleep tonight and then we don't get to know the answer to your puzzle. okay, bill's going to protest he's not old. but i am. :-)
Having long hair helps with the great photo! Your twirl is obvious and delightful - must have been a long exposure? I've only got a maximum of ten seconds!
@summerfield Hehe...I so want to post ahead, but don't want to bury this. I revived a much loved old character that you, Bill and I have an affinity for:).
great 200th selfie ... how do you keep track of the number? Love the red coat , I think I started following you when you were on the Red Riding Hood series and that coat was fantastic for it.
@lesip I started putting tags on all my selfies: alselfie and that shows my number when I check it. I wore a red cape for my red series. This coat I wore back at the gazebo a year ago March and any chance I get really. Love this coat. Got it clearanced for only $20 I think:).
200 selfies....well, that's amazing. Will you give us a resume? Why? How? What have you learnt about yourself? Photography? How have you changed? I think it's really interesting because I cant imagine doing this! Very well done!
@lleo Wow, interesting questions to ponder. Why? Well I do them because I enjoy it...I'm an actress in my core and it allows me to scratch that itch.
How? One shot at a time. My project is not entirely selfies, entirely anything is boring to me, but I do them fairly regularly. I've been doing 365 for nearly 3 years now. Did a handful of selfies my first year and ramped up from there. Now I am in a project of 7 that isn't a selfie group per se, but a group of storytellers. I tell stories best with myself.
What have I learned about myself? You know, I think I love myself more as a result. I used to have a very low self esteem growing up. Not so much now. I don't think I am amazing and a super model or anything like that, but I am comfortable in my skin more than I have been in the past.
Photography? Selfies are HARD to do. But oddly fun to me. It's hard to get the lighting right, the focus, etc. when you have to jump in the shot. I take bunches and usually get it right once.
How have I changed? I have gotten loads better. Loads. My first selfie was wretched but still very much me. I think I have become a better storyteller as a result. I adore coming up with the settings, costumes, putting together a scene. Here is my first selfie for a fun comparison (nearly 3 years old): http://365project.org/amandal/365/2012-01-27
This is beautiful on so many levels. Brilliant capture. Wonderful lighting. Great POV. Fav. Congrats on your achievement. So happy for you. Perfect capture for the moment!
@losthorizon I took some inspired shots of Michael and I that reminded me of the awesome one that you had of you and your wife in the lamplight. And then I did this selfie as an afterthought. Thanks, my friend!!
Congratulations, beautiful capture, look forward to the next 200 perhaps one day I'll enjoy selfies ... my youngest certainly loves them and she would have no problem with 365 year of selfies but me well.........
Ahhhhhhh, the dance we all wish to do, twirling under a lit gazebo, at night, like no one is watching!! Around and around we go with no worries in this dizzying world we live in!! Love it! FAV!
@abhijit I don't know. I do know that you liked my first photo here way back when. It was before I knew much about editing and didn't clone out some stuff I coulda shoulda:). I love this location so much!!!!
Congratulations, Amanda! 200 selfies? That's a record, right? And you have such imagination that you definitely win the award for the most varied. Will you make a collage/slide slow of them all put together?
@jyokota Maybe I should do a best of Amanda selfie collage. Good idea!! Who knows about the record. There are some selfie only people out there or people who do them like me that have been doing 365 longer, so I'm sure others have more, but 200 is quite a few.
@newbank Do it!! So funny! Seriously good place though. They had this amazing egg nog. LOVED my spinach saute dish and salad. The steak was meh, but...all in all it was fab!

Very cool selfie!

Thanks for getting me to ponder some:).
Is this where we first met? Lol ( I mean your first photo I commented on?)
