Finally after two really long seeming weeks of searching, I found a new to me ride. Two weeks sounds like nothing. How pathetic in that I was so impatient and it was driving me crazy in so short a time.
Here’s the thing, though, since my car got smashed and beat up by a tree on Thanksgiving week
and when the rental car ran out, we piled our family of 5 in a Honda Accord, clown car style. The kids were all up in each other’s space and fought and argued miserably in the car. And then in my spare time, I was searching for cars online and many evenings we would go out and car hunt (looking at the stuff I found online). So many losers out there. Kinda like houses and men. Just finished up the house search and move last December. Seems like we have some big stressful purchase to deal with every holiday season.
Well, last weekend, we found 'the one' at last. It was the color I wanted (I’d had 3 red cars in a row and was ready for a break). I was actually picky about the color. It is so drab here so often, especially this time of year, that I needed color. Gray, white, gold, beige…all these boring barely colors were not happening for me. I wanted something that would cheer me up. So blue it was. Blue to remind me of blue skies and the ocean, things I miss. My first car was white, then I had 3 reds and now blue. I am so patriotic.
So here I am all Santa Tart style draped on the hood of my minivan (that I said I would never get, but I have 3 kids, so there you go), praying not to scratch or screw up the paint or windshield wipers. Hoping not to dent the hood with my big ole butt. At one point, I was stuck up there and couldn't move, felt like I would slide down the front. In the end, I got in there got a few shots and was done. Badabing bada boom.
Recognize the outfit and kissy face? Jeff? Anyone?
Oh and more good news is that new neighbors finally moved in next door last week. It had been vacant for 6 months or so. And then I went outside and took selfies two days in a row. Hope I don't scare them off again. They have a son Lucas' age, so we are excited. And tomorrow I start working. Oh and on this day 20 years ago, I met Michael. So many good things.
Talk about being perky, sassy and vivacious! You've got it all wrapped up right here. Love reading your commentaries! Congrats on the sexy mom van and finding it in the color you wanted. Good luck with that first day back in the working world too.
Ha ha, great commentary. I remember you posting one of your car links last week so I'm glad you found something ;) Blue looks lovely, and so does the tart! Enjoy your new christmas present and the peace it bring the kids (says one with 3 also who knows what its like to squish them too much in a car!).
so many great things in your life all at once - and its still 9 days to Christmas - hope you are not peaking to early have to save some fun for the big day!
Nice ride and great selfie! We just got a new car a couple of weeks ago. I was being so picky about colors that I had to wait three weeks until they found it. Then when they did it was stuck under feet of snow from that crazy storm in Buffalo. I couldn't do the mini van, but I did do 7 passengers.
Way to go you Tart you!! LOL LOL The red lipstick really stands out and both you and the car look great!!! My cars were NEVER big enough for my 3 kids!! I needed booths inside my back seat!! FAV!
Many, many wonderful things!! Love this shot! Did you really get your car at a place called Santas Tart?!! Sounds like you will be having a busy holiday season what with the new job and hosting Christmas AND Christmas Eve!! You are a one-woman show, and I think your neighbors will appreciate you!
@panthora I edited in the Santa Tart bit. It was a great used car place. Weird to say that in that they all seem so sketchy. So far new neighbors are great! Just baked them some bread and got the flu the next day. Hope I don't get them sick:(.
