The New Snow Kid in Town by alophoto

The New Snow Kid in Town

Yesterday I met him. He was cool, had those eyes cute as a button, but he seemed a little cold. Today I see he is still outside waiting for me to come out and play.

I have this tradition since I've lived in OH. I try to make a snow dude in the first snow of every season. In our first year here, I "killed" the snow man. The second he melted and fell from our 2 story deck to the ground below.

They are typically tough to make, as the snow has to be just the right consistency for optimal making. This snow was very fluffy and wouldn't pack. I am surprised I was able to get those button eyes to stay on and almost lost the whole face when I stuck the nose in.

This is perhaps my favorite little snow dude yet. I'm getting better with practice. I now need to figure out a tiny hat and scarf for the next one.

Here's last winters: http://365project.org/alophoto/365-year-2/2016-01-14

Here was the one who fell to his doom: http://365project.org/alophoto/365-year-2/2013-11-12

Well he is just adoraable, I lived in Chicago for four years so I know what you mean about the differences in snow type, I think you did a fantastic job considering it was the nonstick kind of snow 😜
