Sunday, so it's the day for a quick return visit to Iceland, to Jökulsárlón, a place I could hardly have found more amazing from the perspective of my Australian background.
Jökulsárlón is a glacial lake (or river lagoon) on the edge of Vatnajökull, southern Iceland, where the Breiƌamerkurjökull glacier is receding from the ocean’s edge. Jökulsárlón recently became Iceland’s deepest lake at 248m as the glacial retreat extended its boundaries. The size of the lake has quadrupled since the 1970s. This photo shows breakaway icebergs floating on the lake.
Doesn't the colour of that entire scene just engulf you! Yes, SO different from you Aussie life! I must nudge Pam @pamknowler to have a look. We shared a similar experience in Newfoundland a few years ago!
looks so peaceful
