Macrozamias are part of a very ancient group of plants known as cycads. The genus Macrozamia is endemic to Australia and there are about 25 species. They do not produce flowers and reproduce by means of cones borne on separate male and female plants.

They're so amazingly beautiful! I had the pleasure of being taken to a cycad forest while visiting friends in Sydney many years ago. It was truly magical! You Aussies have cornered some amazing flora and fauna in your neck of the woods!
