Pen and Watercolour by artsygang

Pen and Watercolour

Very very loosely inspired by Kathy's Pots and very much simplified too!!

I really struggled with getting the perspective, particularly the jug handle, but with pen'n'ink and water colour you can go wrong ( apparantly!)

I love my daffs, I know they're not perfect, and the laws of physics states they shouldn't be that upstanding, but ...... who cares?!

Daffy artist Jak
@randystreat apologies Kathy, you gave permission for your photo to be painted and probably expected better than this!!

Artsygang feel free to relocate this in the albums as necessary J

Very nice, love your daffs. Hubby has just looked over my shoulder and asked who has been doing a Van Gogh!

@30pics4jackiesdiamonds I really like it! I was trying to figure out should I try this one or not but I like the spin you have put on it! And I agree with @wakelys about the van Gogh effect

@30pics4jackiesdiamonds i was staring at this and wondering why doesn't the tilted jug bother me? Sue's husband crossed the t: because Van Gogh!!!
The daffodils are flowers that stand up. I don't understand the point you are trying to make. And they are particularly well done.
Handles are a pain in the butt to outline, draw, paint... My advice to myself, you and the others: if a handle is a pain, give it up. You are the artist and who says your jug isn't standing with the handle at the back?
I really love what you did here!

@monikozi thank you so much, I've never tried drawing like this before and I quite enjoyed myself so thank you so much.
@grammyn @wakelys funnilly enough I deleted my comment "who cares....... Van Gogh got away with it!" Wish I hadn't now!! Thank you my lovely friends x

@30pics4jackiesdiamonds - it's original, it's playful, it's pleasing to the senses. we draw or paint what we want and how we look at the subject. the subject is only for inspiration, and in this case, you were definitely inspired by kathy's pitcher and cup photo. nobody said you have to draw or paint an exact facsimile. it's how you interpret your subject or model. absolutely aces!

@summerfield thanks Vikki, I didn't intend to paint today, had no inspiration, no plans or direction. Once I'd drawn in the ink around my pencil sketch, it just sort of happened!!

@artsygang It's just different. I'm happy to be tagged in these photos, since I enjoy viewing everyone's painting output. So much talent. I often will but flowers in a glass then put the glass inside an opaque pitcher so that the flowers will stand up. Never thought anything of that aspect of the painting.

@30pics4jackiesdiamonds I like this loose style, free and easy. The complimentary colors are perfect. So glad you went ahead and did the project despite not feeling inspired, I'd say you found it!

I thought Van Gogh as soon as I saw it too. I think it's a great interpretation

@kjarn I went to a Van Gogh exhibition years ago, of his sketches, art and letters to his brother. In one letter he asked for a book on how to do perspective- something he never did master!!

@theredcamera I enjoyed doing this

@randystreat I have a jug with a coke glass in it for just that purpose!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond the colours are so bright and cheerful. Definitely has a van Gogh feel about it. The law of physics should not be applied to painting or artwork (just saying.......)
