@jacqbb Jacqueline, i knew it was yours before i read. This is outstanding. From my point of view, maybe if viewed on a larger screen it is different, the only thing is that the shadow on the right hand apple is not as smooth, as gradient, as the one on the left hand apple. But apart from that, it is outrageously good. The reflections on the glass are exquisite. You can tell that therevis a window reflected, one of those typical English windows that slide upwards. And i swear that on the right hand side of the glass, on the inside curve, i can see a human form reflected. And seeing it all rendered in watercolour makes me jealous. :)
It is extraordinary!
@monikozi You’re right the apples were the last I did and they had the wrong colours, so I changed them but I got a bit impatient with it all so I didn’t took my time with them....ah well next time...
@salza Thank you, getting the colours I wanted was the most difficult. There minimum 3 layers of different colours under it. But paper and the watercolours are easy enough to use.
@jacqbb oh dear you have just reminded of my version of this!!
I like that you have added a blue cloth instead of staying with the green. You have included so many lovely details to make it come to life and make it your own.
@jacqbb How nicely this turned out! Your talent with watercolors really shines through! I agree the lantern glass is exquisite! And the detail on the oil lamp is so good! Very nicely presented!
@jacqbb So with glass really looks like glass in the chimney. That transparency is hard to achieve but you seem to have mastered it I love the shadows on the apples and the texture in the fabric!
@jacqbb - in watercolour? holy macaroni, did i say you're the painting goddess? the blue sets off the image. aces!
let me tell you that i gesso'ed three canvases because i just couldn't get it right, not the shape, not the colours. mine wouldn't even come close to being the poor cousin on the other side of the tracks! 😂
@grammyn@summerfield Thank you Katy and Vikki, I started out all wrong.....too brown, too bland brrrr....so I dried the whole thing and started to apply other colours over what I had already done, that gave it more depth. In the glass chimney I thought in time to leave some spaces white. Later on I applied white paint. So I just went on and on until I was more or less satisfied with it.
No define intervention here, just plodding on 😉
Ok ladies shoot please......

@theredcamera Thanks Ellen, it’s slowly coming back....but many things still to learn with this medium.
