Salty slurry by berelaxed

Salty slurry

It was so cold today that the ocean at Duxbury Beach was a thick, salty slurry as the waves broke along the shore. It's something that BB, T & I have never seen along the Massachusetts coastline. My iPhone X was not thrilled with the bitter cold, but managed to catch the creamy thickness of the curling surf as the waves broke slower than usual. Some of the salt water froze instantly before it could flow out again. It was amazing to see, and the seawater colors were unlike any we had seen before. We didn't stay too long, but the visual memories will stay with us, it was an exceptional day along the freezing Atlantic coast.
Too cold for me to go to the beach.

Its alginate foam.

@beachcomber149 No, it's actually partially frozen sea water. We have been well below zero for over 10 days, on Nantucket Island it was even thicker, almost like ice cream I think.

@beachcomber149 As we watched the waves slowly roll in, some of the water froze instantly before receding back. I have never seen anything like it along our coast, it's record breaking cold, scary really.

@berelaxed my apologies. We get a lot of the alginate foam after storms

@beachcomber149 No apology needed, I just thought you would like to see the cool freezing sea, it was really crazy! We get that foam you spoke of as well. xxxBetsey
