From my bedroom window ! by beryl

From my bedroom window !

I have for years thought of this field & oak tree as my country side !! the only countryside I can see from my house ! Yesterday on coming home from hosp & in the mail I found the devastating news that they are going to build 360 new homes on MY FIELD !! I feel very sad & upset --as I grow older I do appreciate God's own rural scenes and will so miss the times I have stood & stared at the beauty of nature from my bedroom window
what a lovely view you have,

That is definitely NOT the sort of news you wanted on your return from hospital. It looks that perhaps you have quite a good size garden so could be shielded from the worst? Sorry shouldn't ask questions and don't feel you need to answer.

Oh that's not good

How can people be so stupid...how many brown field sights are there lying there derelict Beryl...I am totally upset for you...not a good thing to come home to. I would feel like crying & storming the town hall but I suppose there has been protests etc been done but no one ever listens.
Has this land been sold by a farmer...it looks well farmed so why would he want to do that ...the usual I suppose, money The root of all evil!
Sorry I am going on a bit & it won't make you feel any better...get well soon!

What a shame to lose that view Beryl, Beautiful shot.

Oh that is bad news and not what you want to cope with after hospital. What a waste of a beautiful field.

How awful, we are fighting industrial sheds where I live. Try not to think about it until you are better.

p.s. it is a beautiful shot.

That's bad news, Beryl. Such a beautiful view.
Get well soon.

Lovely shot but such bad news. It is a wonderful view. Perhaps they will not get planning permission - one can but hope.
August 24th, 2013
Not a good thing to come home to! Lovely shot, I suppose you did this with one hand?

Hope you are well on the mend and good to see you home. Bad news about the houses we have a similar issue at the end of our road where developers hope to build on farmland :(

What a stunning view. I only imagine how horrific the thought of all those new buildings being built in your beautiful surroundings is. I hope it doesn't happen.
August 24th, 2013
Such bad news Beryl, get well soon.
August 24th, 2013
Sad for you, that's a beautiful view to have from your window. Hope it doesn't happen.
August 24th, 2013
Beautiful view ....sorry to hear the bad news.
August 24th, 2013
i hope it all works out in a way you never would have imagined, and that only good will come from it - amen.

That is so sad - whilst I see the need for development, its so important to keep some areas rural. I feel for you and your loss.
August 24th, 2013
A really beautiful view but how sad that it is to be taken away.

It's a gorgeous setting

Thank you all for your sympathy and understanding over the thought of not seeing this calm & beautiful view each morning on opening my curtains --but I assure you I shall savour every moment I can view this scene - No doubt the lord of the manor will win & be able to sell this lovely fruitful land for instant profit !!

That's sad, beautiful farmland and those lovely trees. Here we have an issue too, the landowner (not local) keeps making applications to build houses, getting rejected, appealing - it's been going on for years! But you still have a lovely garden.
August 25th, 2013
Oh no would be bad enough to get this news at the best of times but how cruel to be met with this when you are trying to recover from your op. How sad.
August 26th, 2013
@ivan Thanks Ivan Such a shame about the field I can see it going through as its a local gentleman - landowner I can see it been passed !
August 26th, 2013
@paulaw Thanks Paula yes I had always thought I would be able to stand & stare at this field !!
August 26th, 2013
Do they definitely have planning permission?
August 26th, 2013
@paulaw It seem so AS the public consultation is taking place in Sept !
August 26th, 2013
Oh, Beryl, I'm so sorry to hear they'll take over this field. I can see what a great loss this will be. :o(((
