In this case I prefer the B/W version !! the 1rst obvious thing that jars me with this is the clashing coloured candles ( although in life they do not clash ) This just illustrates 3 individual objects while the B/W there is unity in the grouping !
@gigiflower I am also struggling Sam ! hence today I have posted the colour and the B/W to cheer me up -- I have decided I must think in colour !! but will soldier on !!!!

Hang in there...I think having two albums and being able to use one for color is a huge help for those of us who like to use both genres. In this image, the red takes me away from the overall composition, so I lean to the black. But both are well balanced.
There is a lot of difference between the color and BW versions. I prefer the mono version. You did a great job arranging the still life arrangement. I am not good at creating still life arrangements.
