A Black coloured bird in B/W -- what is missing !! -- the sheen on his feathers , the bright yellow eye , and the lack of 2D/3D , the body seems flat !
B/W is OK but ....... in this case colour is better !!

I am a big fan of b&w but I think it depends on the subject. I agree this one does look better in colour.
