The second heather by the pond in the garden . Yesterday's heather was failing , but this one is flourishing . They were both planted in the garden quite soon after we arrived in this house -All the gardens were left to go wild and so the whole needed redesigning and planting - After clearing the front gardens , one of the first thing my late husband did was dig out and put in a fishpond and plant around it . The two heathers have not done bad to have survived and flourish for nearly 40 years - we came to this house in Aug 1981 ! so they have done well . As you can see the variegated hebe has died in the frost - So Gary will have to dig it out one of these days , weather permitting !
Still in so much pain with my shoulders and back , so today I telephoned my rheumatologist's secretary , and now waiting for a return phone call whether to go on a higher dose of steroids or not !
Beautiful display and splash of colour they are doing well with plenty of your's and Gary's tlc. Hope you can get some relief from your pain Beryl. I have been had a RA.flare this week and been suffering with the pain and lack of mobility.Have some new tablets now so hope they will work this time. Take care. Fav
A lovely sight early heather just when the colour is needed, it’s done well to live so long.
I hope your pain settles soon, if it’s any help, my shoulders and back have been so painful lately with no real reason why they should be so bad, do you think the weather has anything to do with it?
@craftymeg - sorry to hear you are having extra pains too - I suppose weather conditions can aggravate things ! -it getting so tedious and debilitating !
