The pond doesn't look so attractive now having netted it because of the herons devouring my fish-but my goldfish have a safer enviroment to live & swim around
We had to do this years ago because of the kingfishers which would swoop down from on high! Then in one pool we discovered one of the goldfish had eaten ALL the others!
Your pond.....how wonderful to have these in your garden & much pleasure to be had watching them too I should think! Pity you have to net but on the other hand much safer that way too!
Beautiful fish! They look very happy and healthy. We have a deep pond and have to net it because baby birds kept falling in. Such a shame but you have to make it safe.

Thank you all so much - they seem to enjoy the pond environment , we have just tidied the pond by trimming back the water lilies & thinned out the oxygenating plants so now we can see the fish again !! tThey do breed in the pond but start off life as being black & will take a few years to change to red !! --at the moment we have a lot of black fish which are very difficult to see !!
