I have just about mastered the strange on and off [lol] after a few months I still cannot find an easy way to find programs so if you discover it please let me know :-)
I was discouraged from having Windows 8 by several friends so got Windows 7 on my new laptop. The salesman did tell me that a new Windows 8 is being introduced which is more like Windows 7. 'Plus ça change' and all that!

A friend just got a laptop with Windows 8 and is having no trouble. The first Windows 8 is touch screen but hers is not so perhaps she has the new Windows 8. (I'm not at all technical but when friends, who are, warned us off Windows 8 we paid a bit over the odds and got our laptop from a firm which makes its own and who will install your choice of operating system.)
@tonygig Tony- I am not one to ask really, as I have had no end of trouble but would go back to windows 7 any day !! I am not very au fait with the computer lingo and so I must see what to do rather than been told !! I do not consider myself hopelessly dim as I have had no problems with previous pc's even my faithful vista !!I just can not down load photos & then process them & then upload to365 successfully !!I shall see me using my old faithful till it completely dies !!

Been there - done that - got the t-shirt. Yes we came out the other side but not without a lot of grief and losing a lot of data - never to be retrieved!
Oooh good luck! As has already been said, I had my new one built and insisted on Windows 7 NOT 8, but then with me it's a case of old dog and no new tricks :0)
