One of the paths that take you to the summit of Snowdon -- no before you ask I only looked at the starting point - ( I have done it many years ago when a student at Bangor Uni -- when the limbs and body were willing and able !! ) Rhud Ddu is is also a stop on the re-built train line on the Great Welsh Highland railway running between Caernarfon and Porthmadog
It must be fantastic to climb up there....you can still get up by train though can't you Beryl....do you fancy that? I think I would feel safer walking! Lovely collage taking everything in.
@happypat-- Yes Pat, we have been up and down on the train as well -- quite a pleasant excursion but not half as thrilling as walking up as a student --2coach loads of us from Bangor --on a sunny Sunday ,exuberance of youth,Pat
We took the train up some years ago when we were on holiday with my in-laws. My Mother-in-law was born and grew up in Anglesey with a view across to Snowdon but not being a fan of heights she had never taken the train up. She was very nervous and almost pulled out, especially when she saw the train heading down the side of the mountain, but as we had bought the tickets she didn't want us to have wasted our money. Anyway she was really pleased she finally did it, especially as my Father-in-law was still alive then and loved the journey. Happy memories for me Beryl, thank you. This is a lovely selection of shots.
