I was trying to decide whether to put these jugs in the charity box -- but in the end decided I could not part with them . they are Wades pottery and in the style of Clarice Cliff and were a Wedding gift given to my Mum and Dad in the early 1940s .Mum always had them on the shelf above the Aga in the kitchen And in Autumn were often filled with beautiful yellow Rudbeckia from the garden ! Too many happy memories to part with them !
Charity box Beryl, they will be worth a bob or two...you keep them & put some of your glorious flowers in.... Time enough when you don't want them any more! Reminds you of your mum so have to keep them plus they are very handsome vases.
DO NOT PUT THESE IN THE CHARITY BOX, BERYL!! They're lovely and they're just the sort of thing I would buy from a charity shop. As Pat and Wendy say, use them to display your beautiful flowers.
I am so pleased I have not read this until all resolved - so pleased you are hanging onto them. I have a lovely vase from my Mum's which has come back home with me - it is "out of fashion" & "way too big" but it will stay because the memories are too good to part. We will know when the time is right to move them on - and if never comes? so what!
Beautiful still life and jugs. I am glad you deceided to keep these. Perhaps you can put silk flowers in these. That is what I did with a blown glass vase of my mothers.
