This is Mr Woody and Doggie , saluting you Julia @julzmaioro and your Mr Woody ,from across the seas in the UK.
Mr Woody usually stands guarding all my Art Books on the selves in the conservatory . But today he has come into the living room where he is joined by Doggy -- who as you can see is a little wire-haired terrier just like Alfie
Doggie has been with me since my pre school days . My wonderful dad brought him home for me when he want to the Autumn fair which was held in the nearby town .Not exactly a toy for a 4 or 5 year old but what was available in those war years !! Originally the Autumn fair was where farmers used to hire new farmhands but by this time farmers still had a day off to meet up and enjoy the fun and produce of the street market. I would hate anything to happen to my little doggy -- as it holds fond memories of a wonderful dad . you can see why I was destined to have terriers and especially the wire haired variety like Alfie ,my Lakeland Terrier !
Lovely to meet Mr Woody and Doggie. What a lovely keepsake to remind you of your Dad. I have a Mr Woody too, but haven't taken any photos of him yet. Not been in touch much for the last couple of weeks while we are away. Set off on our travels home tomorrow.
