My favourite and very old rose -I simply love the stripy effect on the petals .As a very small child I remember this rose in my great aunt Catherine's cottage garden . My dad brought home some of the flowers for my mum and later grew a new little rose tree from the cuttings . In the 1990's he took a layered cutting to grow me a rose bush which I brought home after my father's death . I have been struggling to keep it alive and although the original bush I had has died I have managed a layered cutting which now is in bloom !!--I only hope I can nourish it to grow into a strong rose bush !
