This is a type of Laurel - a small and more compact shrub with dark glossy leaves and a bottlebrush type flower head -- it is called a "Prunus laurocerasus" or cherry laurel .
A good photo Beryl.we have a laura bush but I have never noticed the flowers on it! Very shiny leaves so this white flower will look pretty. Our Laurel is in the front garden so I don't often see it! We do t go in that part of the garden much funnily enough, the B&B's see it more than me!
