Well today is day one of my second year here on 365. So today I went to see the doctor and got a positive report for the most part. Before heading up to the hospital to see my Mom we stopped for luc
We went to The Old Spaghetti Factory which is located downtown in the old warehouse district. I really love this place for a few reasons. One the food is great, secondly I just love the old interior they have. They have kept some of the old warehouse intact as you can see the old wooden beams. I love the replica they have built of one of the old streetcars that used to run on JasperAvenue many years ago.
As well this particular building has a special attachment for me as this was the very building my Father worked in when he moved to Edmonton in the mid 1950's. So I always enjoy myself whenever I come here to eat
Aww... how wonderful is that, Brian. The history of this place and your Dad being a part of it. I'm glad that you are healing and that you are staying on 365. Enjoy that good food! Love the photo!
Awesome!! We had a similar one in RI. Train like booths and chandeliers.
It is a shame that even though it was restored nicely, big open space, kept
the bar, it is part of the waiting area in the now medical center. This brought back memories. It was called The Spagetti Warehouse. Small world, huh? :)
So happy to hear you're on the mend. All the best to your mom, too. I love restaurants like this and especially love Italian food. The history of your dad working in that same building makes it extra special, too. Really nice shot of the street car and surroundings.
we have one, too, in toronto, similar set up, also in an old warehouse. was there many, many years ago. food was horrible, though. but the atmosphere is most conducive for the children and they enjoyed it. lovely details on this shot, brian. i like it.
Great shot and I love the history you have with this place. I also love The Old Spagetti Facory. We have eaten at them in St. Louis and Indianappolis. They always seem to be housed in repurposed historic buidlings.
What an interesting story about this photo and restaurant. I love all of your description: especially the positive report from your doctor and that fact you'll be staying on 365. That's great! Your shots all around Edmonton make we want to visit there. We'll have to add that to our bucket list!
When I read your words I thought you're in Toronto..we also have a Old Spaghetti Factory there..but it couldn't be. you captured it beautifully in your photo.it's rich looking with the old wooden beams.. and to have a streetcar there as well..what more can you ask for?
Hope your mom is doing alright!....the nostalgia that the warehouse affords must be overwhelmin and yes, a good place to recapture old memories! Nicely done!
What a great photo of a beautiful place. Such history for you there. We have an Old Spaghetti Factory here in the Sacramento area also. It looks nothing like this as it is not that old and I bet the food at yours is much better. Glad you hear at this point that your Mom is doing ok.
It is a shame that even though it was restored nicely, big open space, kept
