Horns of Plenty

Well this Thanksgiving Weekend here in Canada. So to all of my Canadian friends on 365 enjoy the holiday weekend.
We picked up a rental car for the weekend and after leaving the rental agency we headed off to the southside for Mel to do a little bit of dress shopping. However, the traffic was so bad that we gave up and headed back home.
I was still looking for a shot for today and so I decided to make a stop of at the Dick Mather Park which is home to the Edmonton Public School Museum.
One of the features at the park is this date stone which at one time sat atop the old City Market Building. The City Market in its original form was an outdoor market and when the city decided to build a building to house it the people never really took to that and after a couple of years it was moved back outdoors.
When the building was being torn down someone came up with the idea of saving the date stone and today it sits in this park.
Since it has the horn of plenty on either side I thought it was a nice thanksgiving shot.
So enjoy the weekend everyone
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Melody! Lovely idea for a shot and certainly has the holiday spirit! Have a wonderful weekend!

To us 1914 has a complete other/different image . After the great depression it`s the start of of the first world war. No horns of plenty for our country. Gladly it`s all history now .
