Looking through the window by bkbinthecity

Looking through the window

The civic centre is the heart of the downtown section of Edmonton. It has changed considerably over the years and yet has in some ways retained its history. There were three specifc buildings that once stood in this area that have since been torn down. However, someone had the foresight to preserve sections of each building and they are now on display at the Civic Centre Heritage Gallery. which is located on the east side of Churchill Square.
This particular section once was part of the old Edmonton Post Office. Today the Westin Hotel sits on its location. This section of the wall gives us a glimpse of what the outer walls looked like. I particularly enjoy this section as they kept the window frame intact and it is fun to sit at one of the tables here during the summer or on a fall day and look through the window and watch what is going on in the Square across the street.
Well it is Friday once again so have a great weekend everyone

Very nice shot.
