Day seven of our vacation has been a quiet one. I did some yard work for my Mom and then she took Melody and I out for lunch for our anniversary. Then we went back to her place to visit.
So today I am using a shot from the other day while we were strolling in the park. While walking along one of the trails I heard a train whistle in the distance. I knew that there was a bridge not to far away. I was hoping to make it to a clearing so I could get a shot of it before it passed by.
This a Canadian National Railway train crossing over the North Saskatchewan River. The bridge it is on was originally built by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway back in 1907-08.
The lower bridge is the Beverly Bridge built for vehicle traffic in 1972. This is taken on the far eastern edge of Edmonton
I just love trains- we used to live across the street from tracks in NJ and saw many a CNN railcar go past. No engines though- the line belonged to Susquehanna Rail. Nice capture!
@daguerre You and me both. Here in Canada we have Via Rail that travels across Canada. There is a wonderful trip through the mountains that originates here in Edmonton and makes its way to Vancouver
@tonydebont Yes we are in the middle of our summer here. We have not seen to many really nice days with blue skies as this year we have ben having a lot of rain
