That was when my Dad passed away. Today we got together at my Mom's for lunch and then made our way down to the cemetery. Yes that is a little bit of snow on the ground so we had pulled out our winter coats for today. A little ironic considering how much my Dad hated the snow and every time we got our first snowfall he would state that it was time to pack up and move down to Phoenix where his cousin lives.
Thankfully the weather is supposed to get warm again this week. Trust you will all have a great week
So nice that you keep your mother company on this day. Your dad was relatively young - I'm sure that made it pretty hard on all of you. You obviously still hold him very close to your heart.
my Dad was born in '35, so close in age to my Dad. Yours left so early! I am so thankful that God has let us keep mine here and yet I know that Heaven is our goal...such a dilemma, huh?
oh, look at the two of you looking so elegant in your winter coats. such a romantic pose, and no, i'm not forgetting you're in the cemetery. i just love your pose!
I think it is wonderful that you can share and remember this special man as a family. I'm sorry that my father and mother's graves are so far away. I would like to take care of them. But all in all, the best thought is knowing that they are in a much better place in the care of our Lord. Nice shot.
Just a beautiful narrative and photographic momento. How kind of you to remember your father with such love and happiness. Melody's beautiful red coat just pops out in such a wonderful way, that when I first saw this shot in my feed I thought that it might be black-and-white. What a beautiful pop of gorgeous red color to emphasize the warm and loving remembrance of your father.
I have never seen a gravestone prepped before it is a little erie, you must be dreading the day it is completed.
