Stephen Avenue in downtown Calgary is a section of one of the avenues which has been for the most part closed off to traffic. It is several blocks of old buildings that are still being used either in their original purpose or they have found a new lease in life in the form of shops or restaurants or bars. It really is a great place to hang out and it is only one block over from the hotel in which we were staying
I'm enjoying these scenes. I had interviewed there for a position back in 1980 and I don't think I've been there since then. It's interesting to wonder what my life would have been like if I'd taken the job there!
On of my son's sister in law ( he has two) lives in Calgary and over the years I've seen a lot of pictures of the city on their facebook, but not a picture of were some streets in the city were blocked off to traffic. I think it's a great idea. would be less hectic to go walking and not have to worry about traffic. I really like your collage, Brian.
@ribbet9 It just allows for a lot more people to really enjoy the area. They do have a lot of parking around the area and their train does run just one block over
It does look like a great place to stroll in. I like the way you've placed two shots with similar povs on either side of the central picture, makes a nice balanced triptych.
