In 1988 Calgary did Canada proud when they hosted the Winter Olympic Games. On the outer edges of the city is Canada Olympic Park which was the site for the ski jumping and bob sled events.
Today people can stop by and enjoy this site. Here are few shots from the park. The top left is the Olympic Cauldron that was lit during the Olympic Games. You can see the Olympic Flag, the Canadian Flag and the Alberta Flag. Behind that you can see all of the other flags of the nations. Next you can see Melody sitting in an old ski lift chair that they have sitting there for picture purposes. The bottom right is the ski jump used during the games. Finally I am sitting in a bob sled. If you ever saw the movie Cool Runnings about the Jamaican Bob Sled Team that participated in the games you will recognize the sled. This was the one used in the actual movie.
Wow, did you ride that torpedo down the alley (or whatever they call it)? That can rush down with tremendous speed. A beautiful set of shots to show the park.
Such a great collage, Brian. Cool Runnings was a really great movie. You and Melody fit in this collage so well. What a fun thing to have set up to this day. FAV
