We were over on the south side of the city enjoying ice cream cones when I asked Melody if she wanted to go for a walk through a nearby cemetery. She was willing to oblige me.
So this was taken at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, which is the oldest cemetery on the south side of Edmonton. It is also the highest point in Edmonton
The higher it is, the closer to heaven.... We like wandering through cemeteries too. Some of our friends think we're nuts. It all started when we wanted to search for ancestors resting places.
We live near to a cemetery and at times I do walk through and read the stones we also have the daughter of a very close friend buried there so I sometimes visit and talk to her:)
Good capture. A nice place to visit loved ones who have gone. But I had an uncle who kept visiting his wif'e's grave and crying. She had died young and it gave him a place to go to mourn and feel close. In our city, being an island, space is at a premium and many graves are reused!
Nice shot! So glad you are posting these photographs of the cemetery. I find old cemeteries fascinating, but feel like maybe I'm being a little ghoulish....
