Riding The Rails

The Railroad has always played a huge role in developing Canada as a nation. Here are a few of those contributions.
From top left you have Canadian Pacific Engine 29 on display in Calgary.
The Last Spike National Historic Site. This marks the completion of the Trans Canada Railroad

Great collage- one of my favorite Gordon Lightfoot songs is the saga of the Canadian railroad. It's very similar to the transcontinental RR here.

Fav. Great collage that tells a beautiful story. We had a railway line which was very popular until the bus was introduced here. Gradually the train started to lose clients who found the bus more convenient. In the end the railway company became bankrupt and the service stopped. There are a couple of railway stations still standing as a reminder of our past.
