I have featured this building a few times on my project. This is Government House. It opened in 1913 as the official residence for the Lt. Governor of Alberta. It was used as a residence until 1938 when the then Premier of Alberta had a huge disagreement with the Lt. Governor . Today the Provincial Government holds their weekly Cabinet Meetings here and it is used for other formal functions. Tours are offered on the weekends.
Another beauty in b&w....I think portrait mode worked really well. Just snow in the foreground, no clutter to get in the way...your eye just goes straight to the front door.
@louannwarren Lou Ann the Premier was trying to pass legislation that was unconstitutional and the Lt. Governor refused to give it royal assent . Since it was towards the end of the Great Depression the Alberta government was trying to pass a bill that would have allowed them to print their own currency
