Bear with me as l share today's little adventure. Being the building manager of the building we live in can have its exciting moments. Last summer l discovered that someone had broken into one of our suites. So l called the police who came out to handle the situation. Once they entered the suite they found a man and a woman inside. They were subsequently removed and arrested for breaking and entering as well as possession of an illegal weapon. Apparently they end facing eight charges in total. Earlier this year l was summoned to be a witness for the prosecution.
Today was the court date. I made my way downtown and after waiting for almost an hour l was informed that the two people who had apparently been out on bail had failed to show up.
So a warrant has been issued for their arrest and once the police find them a new trial date will be set and l get to do this all over again.
Well at least I got a picture of the courthouse out of it to share with you
A real no-nonsense and austere building, built and designed for its purpose. The green scooter adds a sense of frivolity, though - it’s an amusing juxtaposition, the levity of the green scooter set against the authoritative building.
Intriguing story - what a mission to try and find these people! Shouldnt have been let out on bail in the first place, really.
A lovely day outside. Business inside. Sorry they wasted your time. Hope that they are charged extra for wasting the court's (and all participants) time. Changes are if they were vagrants, they may not even be in Edmonton anymore.
That's quite the story, Brian! Possession of an illegal weapon?! Yikes! Well, yes, you got a good shot for today- a great pov and a nice pop of green with the scooter! Fav
That happens a lot. Our former landlord had so many different tenants never show up for court procedures. I went to court once to be a witness for someone on the positive side of things and even though the person was there and her attorney asked for permission for me to speak, the judge decided against hearing my testimony. So I know how frustrating that can be! But you did get a good shot out of your time and trouble.
I like the scooter under the sign, especially as here so many scooter riders break laws every day eg no helmet, riding on footpaths, wrong way up one way streets, the list goes on!
I'm always interested in the story behind the capture, so sorry you're going through this though a d that it's dragging on the way it is. Love the contrast with the building and scooter!
I wonder if they will be found?
Ian
