Yesterday I had high hopes that Spring had finally arrived after sighting my first Robin but it started snowing last night and was still coming down lightly this morning. This was taken on the drive to school this morning.....not much color out there today so I decided to keep it simple and just go with this windmill sitting off in a field all by it's lonesome!
I agree with Wendy, Paula. One of your best. Definitely a fav. Are you considering publishing a book of rural Iowa photos? You certainly have acquired an awesome collection. (Back from Colorado, I working backwards to catch up!)
Maybe we should join forces with this wintery shots. Between the two of us we have quite a collection. I can see the prints adorn the wall of some pub. thank you for you very encouraging comments.
@marysybel@shadowdancer@kezzam@shutterbugmomma@geertje@robinwarner@kalexa Thanks so much everyone for your comments....that's pretty much what it looked like this morning.....the sky and ground and everything in between was all the same color....I was really hoping the snow had left town for good! :)
@wac Thank you Wendy, that really means a LOT coming from you! :)
It started out as rain last night and turned to snow....wet and heavy stuff...yuck! I'm so sick and tired of snow, unless of course I can get a really good picture of it!! :)
Thank you all so much for all the kind words....there are times I'm sure I would have given up if it hadn't been for all the great people here who not only give me inspiration by sharing their wonderful photos and techniques but also freely offer encouragement and advice...what a great community!! :)
@wac Great idea Wendy BUT I'm hoping we'll get to build a spring/summer collection real soon too! I'm so looking forward to taking some landscape pictures with some COLOR again....I'm not kidding, I really am feeling color deprived lately!! I did buy a couple of little potted flowering plants at Wally World today so I'm feeling a little better about it tonight though! :)
@barbsmith Thank you Barb, maybe I should....my husband keeps telling me I owe him for all the gas he goes through when we're going somewhere but get sidetracked with a photo op that just appears suddenly and away we go to chase a bird or deer or whatever it happens to be that day. I could offer to give him part of the proceeds to keep him happy and willing to follow that next winning shot for me!! :)
So gorgeous! I adore windmills, I added a couple shots of one just in the last couple of days in my second album, those things fascinate me! Love this!
@alecio@kirsty@lynnmwatson@clarissajohal@glendq Thank you all so much for your kind comments! :) Some pictures just kind of happen like this one but unfortunately most days are a struggle trying to come up with something different. I try to hard to "find" the perfect picture rather than just letting one happen.
@hiddencreek Thank you Kari...I just hope the weather guys are right this time and we actually get that warm. I am SO ready for spring I can hardly wait....the snow was really depressing yesterday...luckily it came and went quickly!
@deniseinindy Thank you Denise, thanks so much for the kind words! :) I didn't use the pencil feature in Picnik....I used a program from OnOne Software (photosuite 5.5) to edit this one. I probably could have got much the same effect in Picnik though.
We have the same weather and when I get hope and upload I am sure you will see it on my pictures. I was out an about before work. Obsessed!
