We went up the tower of St Mary's Church in Cambridge yesterday. I've wanted go up since I saw another 365 posting of a similar view some time ago. 134 steps take you to the top of the 35 metre tower and I'm feeling the pain today! St Mary's is the parish church for the centre of Cambridge and is also the University Church, used for ceremonies and official meetings. The church of St Mary's has been on this site for 800 years although has been altered over the years. The tower was added in 1593. The building seen here is Gonville and Caius (pronounced keys) College, with Trinity and St. John's Colleges in the background.
