..... must have a head for heights! The window cleaners were busy while we were there, I imagine it's a never-ending job. These cradles are released on stainless steel tubes and operate like an up-and-over garage door, while the uppermost windows are cleaned by abseilers. The shard was so called because it consists of 'tapering glass facets which do not meet at the top', so on the highest level you can feel the breeze but cannot look over at any point - thank goodness. Thanks for all your interested comments - it really was a most incredible visit. I'll probably make this the last of my posts on the Shard although I could keep going for at least a month.....!
I love the postcard you created, I've enjoyed your series too. I saw the Shard last Dec. on a visit back to the UK, it's rather impressive ! But didn't have time to go up there, so it was great to see the view from your photos :)
