Tea and cake is obligatory of course. This was a chocolate beetroot cake - not the Nigel Slater one which was very nice but a bit fiddly. I found this recipe on the internet - it was very rich and delicious. The book shown is actually next month's book so I can't recommend it yet. This month we read The Rose of Sebastopol by Katharine McMahon which I enjoyed very much.
Always nice to hear about a book that's a good read. I think this is a lovely composition Judith and it makes me feel really hungry. That reminds me I better get the dinner in the oven!

lovely composition on this shot, Did I mis read, chocolate and beetroot????? how did someone come up with that. I have never heard of it. I must check out that book.
