This is the first day of our three day cycle trip along the Otago Rail Trail. Here we are enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery. This is New Zealand's first rail trail using the track of a disused railway. there were lots of ganger's sheds and information boards along the way, as well as many bridges and even some original stations. The track was quite gravelly in parts and the temperature was thirty degrees. We cycled 42 km so it was quite tough in the heat.
This looks bliss Judith...I envy you your freedom over there , lovely as it is to have family to visit it does mean we are quite restricted to their area & seeing them. I can safely put that here as they won't read this!"!!!!! Sometimes it must be nice to go off on your own a bit although we do go to visit them. You are being very adventurous...wondering if you travelled light or your stuff went ahead of you if it was an organised trip?
@happypat Our stuff was collected and moved on by a company who organised the trip. We had paniers for our day-to-day stuff. @lesip No we didn't pack a tripod, not even a small one. Wish we had though, we were photographing penguins on the beach yesterday!
