We took the opera house tour and it was magnificent. A brilliant guide who gave us a fascinating tour and history of this famous building. We were taken into the auditorium, onto the stage, and backstage as well as into the ornately decorated reception rooms. There are 500 permanently employed singers who work there, and 1,000 musicians.
