Audley End House and gardens by busylady

Audley End House and gardens

Had a lovely day out with the U3A photography group. Audley End has a complicated history but suffice to say the present house was built in the 16th century and originally on this site there was a benedictine monastery owned by Sir Thomas Audley. Capability Brown designed the gardens.
I forgot to say that if you live in the UK and were watching TV last night, Audley End was featured on the Antiques Roadshow.

A fabulous house & garden Judith. Audley End seems a familiar name but I can't remember in what connection. Perhaps just because it's a famous house!
