We went to visit our lovely ex-neighbours this morning in the very rural village of Great Raveley. On the way back I spotted this lovely church in Little Raveley. I took pictures from across the road then walked up to the gate noting the very neat flower beds, the immaculately painted gate complete with Beware of the Dog sign, opened the gate and walked up the path to take a close up of the front door. I did wonder how many people in a tiny village would have time to look after this beautifully kept garden and why on earth did they have that sign on the gate? When I turned towards our car which was parked around the other side I noticed the car parked in the driveway of the 'church' and the sign which said ST JAMES PRIVATE. I didn't spot anyone and so I hope they they didn't spot me prowling round their garden!!
How funny Judith, I'm sure you're not the only one who made the same mistake! Perhaps the vicar lives there, whoever it is it's a credit to them. Beautifully kept, they must be very proud of their home!
Ooh Judith , I still have a wide grin on my face - A mistake easily to make as it looks as if it has been a chapel or church at one time ! It would be funny if you were caught clutching you camera !!
A beautiful capture and useful way of using an old building, it’s to be hoped they had to move to bigger premises and not close the church down from lack of use.
