Wimpole folly, close-up by busylady

Wimpole folly, close-up

A close-up of the folly shown yesterday. I've looked up some details and discovered that it was designed to resemble the ruins of a medieval castle by Phillip Yorke, the 2nd Earl of Hardwicke. It was built in 1769 by Capability Brown and covers a distance of 200 feet in length and includes a Gothic tower.
Straight out of a fairytale lovely with details on the tower.
