John Webb's windmill by busylady

John Webb's windmill

A lovely afternoon out to Thaxted near Dunmow in Essex to meet up with friends we haven't seen since before the pandemic. This brick tower windmill built in 1810 was very striking but difficult to get far enough away from due the farmer's fields. I didn't want to flatten his crops!
Good things, meeting up again and proper hugs!
Wonderful shot

In England they all seem to be built of bricks - which last for centuries!

What a lovely windmill. I always wanted to live in either a windmill or a lighthouse when I was a child. I love round buildings.

So glad yo are able to catch up with friends again.
