Planting a tree for Jubilee

I've been planning to revamp some of the church gardens for some time, and had planned to plant a tree. When the Queen asked for people to plant a tree for her platinum Jubilee I thought this would get people on board with my plans. The plans are now coming together and on Saturday we planted our Amelanchier in brilliant sunshine in front of a crowd of people who attend the church. More plans are afoot to plant a Daphne and some herbaceous plants, and also to install a seat with paving. (I'm in the blue top!)

Our new one is really coming on new leaves beginning to unfurl. Strangely while weeding the other side of the garden we realised we already had one…we recognised it by the same leaves.

A lovely idea to plant a tree where everyone will see it and your plans sound wonderful a seat is always lovely to sit and watch the world go by.
