We have just arrived in Segovia. This incredible aquaduct is right outside our hotel. It was built in the 1st century AD, and was in use until 1973! There are 44 double arches, followed by 4 single arches, and it is 28.5 metres high. It is made of granite blocks and no cement was used in the construction.
Great shot! I haven't seen this structure in person but we have a friend who lived in Segovia for a few years, so it's one I'm familiar with from postcards and other photos. I like angle you've used, it gives a great sense of the size (both height and length)!
Fantastic pov - enjoy your stay in Segovia. I’m going to have to look up where that is now! We are in Madrid and Toledo in September - I don’t think it’s so far from there
